Hi All,
Regarding the Authors to Alaska Luncheon at conference 2009:
It has been decided that Kevin Hawkes purposed fee of $3000. is too high
for a small site conference and A2A will be going with luncheon speaker
Roland Smith.
Thank you to Mary Beth Schoen for initial contacts with Roland about
attending. Roland is a Northwest writer living near Portland. He writes
adventure stories in JFic as well as animals stories in picture books.
He has won numerous awards and is popular with kids. Guys Read would be
of interest here also.
Planning is underway.

Bruce Coville will be coming to Juneau and Ketchikan in April 09. He is
an incredible author, speaker, storyteller, audio producer (Full Cast
Recordings). Susan Jones in Fairbanks is interested in a visit also, but
would need someone in Anchorage to split the airfare from Juneau. He
charges $2500/day and can do three presentations per day, so it is

Looking for info on author

Has anyone seen a presentation by Obert Skye, the author of Leven Thumps and the Gateway to Foo? It looks like either the publisher and/or Barnes and Noble are bringing him to Alaska in May and he'll be doing presentations for free. Since his books have kind of mixed reviews I'd like to know more about him as a presenter. I'd appreciate any feedback.

Bruce Coville in 2009

Bruce Coville is anxious to have dates for his visit early April 2009! If you would like to join in and have him at your school or in your community, we have one week to book him as he is getting other offers.

Mary Beth Schoen, O'Malley Elementary, in Anchorage is also working with Bruce on this trip north.

Here is his information:

Rates: $2500/day plus travel three sessions per day and a place to stay.
