Subject: [AKLA List] Nominations for AkLA Offices

 

Dear AkLA Members,

 

We have reached the cut-off date for accepting nominations for AkLA Offices, yet I still have not received any nominations for Secretary, President, or Vice-President for Committees & Roundtables.

 

I am asking members to self-nominate for officer positions.  Our timeline is short—I just didn’t believe that there would be such reluctance amongst our membership to volunteer for one of these prestigious offices!  I need to hear from members by December 1^st in order to get your names on the ballot.  Here is a brief description of these offices, for more info, go to http://www.akla.org/handbook/iv-1-2organization.html#president

 

President: Serves for two years.  First year as “President,” and second year as “Past-President”

 

Vice President for Committees & Roundtables:  Serves first year in this position, then becomes “Vice-President for Conference” in 2010 for the 2011 AkLA Conference in Juneau.

 

Secretary: Serves for two years
