Dear Mary Jo and AKLA Governments Roundtable,

I have accepted a position at the State Historical Library as Curator and so will be resigning as Government Documents Roundtable Chair.

During the six months that I served as Chair, my main achievement perhaps was putting up a blog called Information Homestead that I hope will help government documents folks to bridge the physical distances between our depositories.

The blog can be used as a forum for ideas about how to manage, preserve, and promote digital and tangible documents, share news items (such as government documents as wearable art) or questions such whether and why multiple copies of Glenn Brown’s History of the Capitol is arriving at your depository (did you see the post on GOVDOC-L listserv about that?), notices of comments periods, highlight documents and appointments relevant to Alaska, and to post or discuss government documents related resources and tools.

Whether by blog, teleconference, listserv or in person, I sincerely hope that our government documents roundtable can realize its potential for working together to continue making government information accessible to the public. We have both young energy and lots of experience and knowledge to draw from that we can share.
