Subject: [Fwd: [PCCLIST] Refugee Camps as Corporate Bodies]

An alert to those who are not on the SACO list, or might not otherwise see the minutes from the weekly Subject Editorial List. 

The minutes for August 6, 2008, contain the following decision. This continues the movement (also documented in LCRI 24.1A) of identifiably corporate bodies from the subject authority file into the names authority file.


Notaufnahmelager Marienfelde (Berlin, Germany : Refugee camp)

Refugee camps should now be treated as corporate name headings instead of subject headings. The list of categories in the Subject Cataloging Manual, H 405, will be revised to reflect this decision. This camp may be established as a name heading. The subject proposal was not approved.
