Subject: Call for Proposals Deadline Extension
Hello
potential Presenters & Conference Participants:
To
everyone who submitted proposals for the 2009 Streams of Language, Memory &
Lifeways National Conference for Tribal Archives, Libraries and Museums to be
held in Portland, OR October 19-22, 2009 THANK YOU! To everyone who has asked
for an extension of the deadline for the Call for Proposals here it is: March
14th. However, I would encourage you to submit your proposals as
quickly as possible. The Programs Committee had hoped to notify the successful
applicants by April 3rd. While the Committee will work as quickly as
possible to review the proposals extending the deadline will more than likely
extend the notification process as well.
Over the
last couple of weeks most of us have had to deal with drastic budgets cuts and
grant deadlines. If you have been impacted by this my heartfelt sorrow to you.
However, while the economic conditions of the country seems to be deteriorating
the enthusiasm to present and/or attend this conference is growing! So, if you were
caught up in other business, procrastinating or just plain didn’t get to it
here is your last chance to submit a proposal. Please visit www.tribalconference.org
to submit your application or for more conference information as it becomes
available.
