SponsorsThe Alaska State LibraryEach year, with the help of the Alaska State Library, the AkLA conference committee is able to invite national speakers to the conference. In addition, State Library staff are extremely active in providing programs to conference attendees. Neal-Schuman FoundationAkLA was the recipient of a $1,000 grant for innovative conference programming from the Neal-Schuman Foundation. The grant program supports grassroots organizations as they help librarians and library supporters communicate the importance of libraries. AkLA will use the grant funds to help pay for Peggy Barber of Library Communication Strategies to attend the conference and offer two exciting workshops on increasing public support for libraries: “Marketing as a Team Sport” (#31), and “The Power of Word of Mouth” (#56) Alaska Center for the BookAlaska Center for the Book is a partial sponsor for Friday night’s Author’s Reception at the Consortium Library. The Center for the Book is also sponsoring the art exhibit How the Ink Feels, which involves activities over several weeks at the Consortium Library and culminates that night. Thank you Alaska Center for the Book! OCLC WesternAs you enjoy your break time coffee and snacks, be sure to thank staff from OCLC Western for their generous and ongoing sponsorship of AkLA’s annual conference and for sponsoring this year’s conference break refreshments. |
