There was discussion of AKLA speaker fee request for $500.00 from A2AK. A2AK luncheon is traditionally sold out and is a money maker for the AKLA conf. A2AK should not be required to contribute toward the speaker’s fee. A2AK will see what happens in 2009.
Carol Race offered author Roland Smith and author Kevin Hawkes for the AKLA ’09 conf. in Kodiak. There was discussion of having an illustrator and/or author at future conf. The committee agreed to have Carol Race put forth Roland Smith and Kevin Hawkes as author/ speakers at the ’09 conf.
Carol Race was voted as the A2AK chairperson for 2009. Sue Sherif will continue as A2AK treasurer. Laura Guest volunteered to update the A2AK website.
The meeting was adjourned to attend the A2AK awards banquet. Minutes submitted by Bonnie Cavanaugh
